my cusion's friend is selling his 3000gt vr-4 for 1800 dollars. i want to buy it but it has blown turbo's. i told them no big deal cause i want to upgrade them anyways. how hard it is to replace just the turbo's on the car. i have an mr2 turbo and that was kinda easy if u are farmilular with those motors. thanks

1800 is one heck of a deal if only the turbos are shot. You may ask him about the condition of the transmission.

the trannies are actually very good, they can hold tons of power. Generally, the only thing wrong with the trannies are synchros and transfer case problems, but the transfer case problems are covered for free at the dealership due to a recall.

1800 is a hell of a deal, you generally can't even buy a parts car vr-4 for that. The turbos are somewhat difficult, but not overly difficult. The front turbo isn't half bad, but the rear one can be a PIA. Its a weekened job for me, in which i've swapped turbos numerous times.

Yeah, also remember if you do go with bigger turbos, you will need the supporting mods, you can't just run bigger turbos alone.
