Help!
My car died over the weekend so I had it towed to the closest dealership. They diagnosed it as the crankshaft position sensor and told me that the timing belt, timing belt tensioner, and water pump all needed to be replaced too.
I had the timing belt and water pump changed 7 months ago in February '05 by my local dealership (I have a copy of the work order). The dealer that is working on it now says they don't think that the timing belt or water pump was ever changed. They say the belt is worn and the water pump is leaking.
I told them to save the old parts for me so I could take them in to my local dealership to have them inspected.
Does anybody know if there is a date code stamped on the water pump somewhere. I doubt there would be on the belt, but I figure if the pump is original it would make my case for the belt a bit stronger.
Somebody's yankin' my chain.
