Doesnt Sound Good

Alright i have a bit of a problem..
My 95 camaro is making a very odd rumble when i accelerate and when i hit about 45 mph there is a very noticable loss of power but then at around 55 mph it kicks back and goes....
What could the sound possibly be? and what about the power loss?

Clogged Catalytic convertor?

constant popping? misfire?

not a misfire.. its a hard sound to describe..almost like a boaring out noise

Boaring out, makes me think of grinding, makes me think bad bearing???

Do you know (specifically) where the noise is coming from?

Ok, Before anything else what engine is in the car? Is it the 3.4 or the 3.8? Assuming it's a 6 cylinder anyways.
