Auto to Manual Conversion

Has anyone here ever done a 4L60E to T-56 conversion on a 4th gen? Or is it a stupid idea. I wish my car was 6 speed, but oh well. My tranny is starting to slip a little, and I was wondering if I should just convert to manual instead of rebuilding my auto.

Oh, and how much does it cost to rebuild an automatic transmission, or to just bolt on a new tranny?

Keep it as an auto dude.. converting to manual is hard since you got to add all this extra stuff aside from just the transmission. Rebuilding an auto isnt recommended since its alot harder than rebuilding a manual though, take it to a shop.

I'd say around $1,200 to have it rebuilt.
