Usually this is caused by the key not being recognized by the anti-theft system. Do you have a different key that you could try?
I've also heard you should try it with no other keys (especially other anti-theft keys) to make sure there is no interference between the key transponder (if that is what it is called) and the car's system.
Hope this helps....Glen

Check fuses, but the manual sort of implies that if it isn't a bad key, then it's a module or something expensive.
I can look again - does the engine crank but not fire? Did you try inserting the key slowly (my Honda anti-theft gets fooled if you do it too fast) and let the system catch up? Just trying to think of ideas.
Sorry I can't be more help....Glen

Glen,
I had a dealership send someone out and they tell me it's the battery! Gosh...that would be nice if that's ALL it is.......but, you know, we also have other problems with this van. Our tranny skips alot and has harsh timing. Wondering if we should just sell it? Have you heard of lots of problems with this year venture? Thanks for the reply!

Since these vans are mostly controlled by computer, all kinds of stuff can happen with a low battery (or loose connections to it).
If you still have the "Security" message after changing the battery, you my be able to reprogram the keys with the information below.
