94 Explorer's Daytime Lights Won't Go Out!

I've been having some minor issues with my daytime lights not going out when I set my alarm on my 94' Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer. Usually I just set the alarm again and the lights go out, but now they WILL NOT turn off whatsoever. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can solve this problem myself... or am I gonna have to see a (sigh) mechanic? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your vehicle doesn't come with daytime running lamps. Do they stay on constantly or do they shut off after a fixxed delay time runs out?

I'm sorry, I should rephrase that... my parking/clearance lights stay on (pretty much everything but my headlights). And by "stay on" I mean that they won't shut off at all. I'm betting that there is an alarm glitch or something, but Im totally in the dark here and don't know what to do. I've been burned by mechanics in the past so I dread going to see one again since I am a college student and money is limited. Anyways thanks to who ever can help out.

Does this only occur after locking the doors via remote? Is the alarm an aftermarket system or the factory system? Notice any other wierd electrical issues?

It seems it is triggered by locking the car with the remote (a factory system), but once it is triggered now there is no way to turn them off. I have not noticed any other electrical problems.

Do you have any control, or do they turn off when you unlock/disarm the vehicle via remote? See what it does when you lock the doors useing the power lock switche. May be a glitche in the controller I'll need to do some research and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

The remote had fixed it in the PAST, but it seems today is my lucky day for it not to fix itself. Anyways, thanks for your help man. Most likely I'll have to put it in the shop tomorrow morning because I cant risk not having a car with a working battery Thursday. If I find anything myself I will post it so other people will know what the hell is going on. Thanks again.

UPDATE: 9/14 - Got my Explorer checked out by a mechanic today. It took the poor man 8 hours and $30 out of my wallet to tell me I had a bad connection to the Valet Switch. So for anyone out there that has this problem... at least now you know where to start digging. Thanks again for the help.
