Tail Lamp Mod!!...

I moded my hatch tail lamps by heating the seal and pulling the lens off of the housing. I then removed the chrome metal plated parts only. I sprayed the housing with duplicolor jet black paint. Screwed the metal and chrome plated parts back onto the housing. Now on the lens (1 pc) I removed the reflector from the turnsignal (clear with red stripes). It sits behind the amber part of the lens. It looks sweet!! My only question is...Do I NEED TO have that clear reflector there?? The lens is amber...So I really can't see there being a problem with the local authority. Do you? I live in Houston and I tried to look up the local laws on tail lamps and all I keep getting is shit. I will try to post some pics tonight!

don't like using that word, altezza, makes the Altezza seem crappy and cheap when used in that contex

As far as I know, removing the reflectors is illegal in most (if not all) states.

as far as the reflector, you need that there for night driving and such, without it its hard to see a car thats just all dark.

In texas- tail lights must light up red, brake lights must light up red, turn signals may be red or amber, you must have two red reflectors in the rear that are no smaller than 1"x2".

If that's the case then I should be ok! I will try to have those pics up by tonight. This tail light is a tester,it's cracked and it's not in good shape. When I post the pics give em' a thumbs up or down. I need some input before I do this to my good lights.=)

That's the right link!! WARNING! If you try this on your tail lights DO NOT LEAVE THEM IN THE OVEN LONGER THAN 7 MIN, THEY WILL WARP BAD!!
