05 silverado...performance edition

OK, so I'm new and this may be old news but... just purchased (for the wife if you didn't catch the name) an 05 Silverado 1500 ext cab (6.5 ft bed) 2WD with the 6.0 ho engine. Now we went to the dealer looking for a 4wd that she liked, couldn't pass on the discounts! After much looking and not seeing what we wanted, we saw this beauty on the showroom floor in the corner. NOT an SS, no emblems or badges saying that this was anything but an ordinary LS. Has the "Silverado Performance Edition" which includes the 6.0, high perf suspension, hd trailering, 3.73 ratio, and yep, the 20" chromed alum. wheels. Wife fell in love with the sunroof and we took her home. Now I'm thinking it's something of a rare breed? Anywho, just thought I'd throw this out there, being new here.
Catch you all later... (once the mods begin)

The Gibbs trucks are badged, they're 4.8L supercharged as well.

Greetings Wife's Silverado,
Yes - these trucks are somewhat unique. Your's sound like mine - except you have the 2005 new options - sunroof and electric fans - neither of which were available in my mid-year 2004.
The first of these came out in May/June 2004 - and they are limited in number. You may be surprised to find out - that depending on how you drive it - you can attain 21 to 22 miles per gallon in highway driving with your truck (before any Nelson tune or similar mods).
You'll also be surprised to know that this 2wd truck has great winter and wet road traction thanks to the locking (not limited slip) differential and the special Z60 suspension.
Again - congrats on joining the club - the v.h.o. club.
Several other threads discuss the v.h.o. product if you do a search. Jethro3 and mine happen to be white - but they were available also in black, blue, red (all three are SS colors) and the white (unique in that it was not an SS color.
One last thing - a 2wd SS and the Silverado Performance package are the same vehicle except for the badging - available in LS or LT type configurations and leather. Jethro3 saw several of them - I'm sure he'll be checking in shortly too.

I was told less than 2000 of these things in the 2005 body. Now I hear they are coming in the '06 with Crew Cab and Reg Cab. So much for unique....
What a Sleeper, Fast Sleeper...Stock doing 15.1 at the track last week... :eek2:
Would it look like THIS:

Oh, so you were the one that STOLE the truck out of Houston when I was looking for mine. :banghead: Joke.
When I started looking I had the criteria of nothing but the B4V option and cheap. There was one in Katy (Houston) for 2 days and then it went missing and no one know where it went. Then I found a 40/20/40 bench in Altus OK and it was MSRP of 33,200. I found out there was one in Denton (Dallas TX) and went to drive it and found they had a black GMC for 40K, a white leather loaded for 38K and mine. Mine was 32,500 before Emp Pricing and I had them add the folding mirrors. Got On-Star, XM, buckets, driver power, tint, Performance Package, discounts and out the door for 25,500. Could not pass on such a great racing platform.
What all is on yours?????

Its an LS (cloth interior-dark charcoal), also have the onstar and xm and buckets, driver power, Perf. Package, also electric sliding sunroof w/integrated garage controls, auto dual zone a/c. 1 year of onstar and 3 mo's of xm free. total sticker was 35550. 5100 in emp discount and 3000 cash back. I feel the same way, a deal like that couldn't be passed on. Got it from Phelan Chevy in Lyons IL. Added the tonneau cover right off and bug guard and window rain deflectors. Nothing major yet.

I'll be waiting for an '08... which kinda sucks. Cars, apparently, are not that dissimilar to PC's. Seems like every time you get "the best thing" they got one better coming out right behind it.

It's time for you guys to get SERIOUS on the mods. The fbody family has given us a HUGE aftermarket, and its time to take advantage. Time to start putting the other name brands in there place.....the back. :evillol:

how the hell do i add a pic to my posts?
there is a couple ways.
1. Upload the picture you want to the internet somewhere. Preferably your own webpage, or another site that has free webhosting ( www.photobucket.com )
A. If you want to post the picture in a thread, just click the icon with the mountain picture. It will bring up a field, cut and paste the address of your picture into the field and hit return. It will insert the picture where ever your cursor is in your post.
B. If you want to add a picture to your signature go to the top of this page and click on "User CP" follow the tabs to "signature" find the field for adding a picture. Cut and paste the address. Hit return and your done.
I hope this was clear enough for you, if you need more help, let us know.
