Clutch for 2.0NT Eclipse

Stock Clutch going out, I need a new clutch but have heard that if you get a clutch thats too strong you could crack your cams, so need advise in getting a clutch that will work safly and properly with my all stock car with out much compermise and something that will add some hp or torqe, or maybe adding upgrades that are smog leagal in the state of California. please advise. THANKS
