I have a 98 Jetta TDI. The fan only works on high. I replaced the dial switch assemply but that did not solve the problem. I was told a "resistor". Any ideas? Thanks in advance! Jim

That's what I had in my 00 sunfire. It was most definitely the resistor. It's a little electrical switchboard that goes after awhile because of the condensation from the AC. It blows the circuit. For me it was about a $100 job...$35 for the part and the rest labor. Quick fix.
Hope that helps. :)

Soundsl like resistor pack on blower motor. If the resistors go it only works on high (seperate resistor wiring on resistorpack)
