Hey, I was wondering if anyone here can tell me how to launch an automatic? I know it has something to do with holding the brake and revving at the same time, but that seems like it would hurt the tranny/brakes/suspension???? Thanks!

When you're at the line, after doing your burnout, you're going to want to hold your RPMs at or around 1100RPM. Experiment with what RPM works best for you though...This is actually what keeps the rearend and trans from suffering too much SHOCK, because you're preloading the driveline and getting the "slack" out of it.
Depending on your traction, you can either go WOT off the line or roll onto the throttle. Again, it all depends on track conditions.

Well, you OBVIOUSLY don't want to be doing a BURNOUT WHILE launching....that causes unneccesary wheel spin.
When you're at the track, there will be a small puddle of water first. Drive AROUND it! Back up so your back tires are just in front of the wetness and do your burnout.
To do the burnout, put the car in 2nd. Hold the brake pedal to the FLOOR and hit the gas. Give it gas as you feel the backend to move up or down slightly. Keep giving it gas as the wheels start to spin. Check in your side mirrors for smoke pouring out of the wheelwells. Once you start to see smoke, count to about 4 before shifting into 3rd, letting off the brake and rolling out of your burnout. Now you're tires should be nice and hot. Once you're done with the burnout, shift into DRIVE.
Next, you'll want to pull up to the starting line until you trip the "Pre-Stage" lights. Once those lights come on, wait for your opponent to light up HIS "pre-stage" lights. Once his are lit up, inch up a bit more untill the "STAGE" lights come on. Once you're "Staged" you're signifying that you are READY. Hold the brake to the floor again and press the gas untill your RPM's read about 1100-1500 RPM. Watch the lights carefully now, and when the 3rd yellow comes on, mash the gas and release your foot from the brake simultaneously. Keep the gas to the floor until you cross the traps.
If you experience any wheelspin off the line, try lightly "rolling" onto the gas.
