I have a older buick LeSabre (1994) that runs really bad when the engine is hot. The engine stalls, dies (hot) and poor power but seems to run OK at first startup in the morning. Service engine light comes on when the stalling starts. Lately the light comes on and stays on at first startup and the problem is worse. I need to read the codes but I don't have the codes or proceedure to do so.

Take it to Auto Zone or Advanced and have the codes checked free! Some 94's are OBD1.5 and some are OBD11. Do you know if the computer is under the hood or under the dash?

The computer is under the hood. I have tried to get the codes from autozone but they were not getting it to read. error: 'unable to read' but I am not sure it was done correctly. I was hoping to get the service light to flash and look up the codes.

You have an OBD11 system. The cable on the scanner at Auto Zone may not have been compatible with the connector in your car. You can not get the OBD11 to jump out and flash codes like the OBD1 did!

Yes, it seem to be a problem with the plug or compatiblity with the scanner. Thanks for the help. I will try another location for autozone to see if they can help.
