trans am fuel

Hey i just bought a 2000 trans am with 32,000 miles on it and is has the stock ls1. I was wondering do u HAVE to run 91 gas in it? And if you don't will it hurt your motor if you run a lower number?

Yeah, you should run the octane that they tell you to. Lower octane is less resistant to predetonation and the higher performance engines need the extra predetonation resistance of the higher octane fuel.
