Does amp on speakers worth the money?

As you might remember I installed a Clarion DXZ655MP and 4 Infinity referance speakers. The speakers are rated at 60 watts RMS, my HU provides only 18, do you think it would be worth for me to get an amp?
Will a 2 Channel be much different from a 4?
Also how hard is it install an amp for the speakers, do you think my skills will be enough (installed my system by myself, everything soldered and heat shrinked)
Thank you for your help..

It should, on less efficient and better performing speakers it definitely helps, on some Infinity Reference it wouldn't help as much but it still should help.

A 4ch would power all of your speakers equally, while a 2ch would power your front speakers and you could put the rears on the headunit. I would go for the 2ch, you can get more power for your money and amping rears is a waste.

It's easy to install an amp, you've got the speaker outputs (which run to the speakers obviously), power which goes to the battery, ground which goes to a nearby bolt, remote which goes to the blue remote output on your headunit, and the rcas which go to the rca outputs on your headunit. That's all there is, it just takes some time routing all of those wires through the cabin of the car.

a amp will always help sound. it takes less volume to make the same sound, and the higher the volume the more distortion that is created. so it will help the sound quality and should make them a bit louder.

Huge improvment man, you went out and spent the money on high quality speakers (INFIITY) go out and amp them, you will be blow away with how much clearer and crisper it sounds
