Replacing stock shifter knob

Just wondering what the procedure is to remove the existing knob, I am looking to replace it with an Ralliart knob.

i believe it just unscrews

eh, some aftermarket knobs won't screw on, you have to saw off the upper threading...or just by a shortshifter
