Hello Experts

I am new here and this is my first post. If I am doing something incorrectly please do let me know...

My problem here is with my Remote Car Starter...

I have purchased a Basic Nordic Car Starter. The two features that I use with it are the 1) Auto-Start and 2) Keyless Entry (Door opener).

After the install... everything seemed fine. However here are the list of problems that started to occur.

1) A few days after the install when the remote starter was pressed it would rev up for about 3-5 seconds and stop without starting the car. it would then try again with the same results... (a high rev for another 3-5 seconds and stop without starting). this kept going until i disabled it by pressing the auto-start button again. after i waited a few seconds/minutes i would press it then it would work fine. that really puzzled me for a while...

2) Also after the install when I sit in my car and try to turn on the engine it would not work. I would turn the key and the engine would crank but it would not crank. I would have to sit in my car for about 2-10 minutes on trying to start my car.

(note: These problems would only occur if: 1) The car would be in the direct sunlight of the sun or 2) If I would start the car and shift it to Drive immediately after startup the car would die and the cranking issue would start.

NOW...

I have brought my car to my mechanic and he said that it's the wiring on the car that's causing it. I'm on the side of the mechanic b/c these problems were not an issue before the remote starter has been installed.

Future Shop installer said that something is wrong with my car. I need to get my car fixed. He's talking about problems w/ my relay and that I need to get that fixed. He recommended that I do a fuel injection flush...

I don't know what to do!!!

I want to keep this car starter b/c of the features it offers me but it's giving me a hard time for it... Any similar problems or suggestions to this?

I'm open all ears...

most likely its all wiring problems. Remote starts can be somewhat complicated if you dont have experience. If you wire one thing wrong, it can cause everything to go on. Make sure you have your tach wire connected to the brain and make sure you connected your starter kill correctly (if you have one).

first off... thanks for the reply. it's greatly appreciated.

now, the guy at future shop is kind of a prick... he said that the wiring on his side is perfect. other than the advice that you gave me... is there anything that i can ask him to check?

tell him to double check all the wiring again, its so easy to overlook a mistake. Ask him to check the starter kill and make sure there isnt a short in your wiring going to somewhere like your door lock wires or hood pin/trunk pin (if you have that). if you have a short in any of those wires, it can make the brain think that the hood pin got released and that someone opened your hood so your engine would shut off. if not, i dunno ask him to recheck the wiring a 3rd time. or maybe it can be the simplest thing, like a fuse, tell him to check all the fuses. it could be the fuse on the ignition wiring on the remote start harness

will do!

the funny thing is... everything seemed to be working perfectly for the first few days. Then things just started to deteriorate. Removing this remote-starter is the last thing I want to do.
