im having trouble installing a new timing belt .i dont know how the belt goes if some one could show me a pic or give me some details .i went to auto zone to get my belt i asked for an 89 acura integra 1.6 when i tried installing it it seems it was too big it might have been for a b18 since they have bigger cams.so i whent back ,this time i took my old belt and the guys from autozone helped me find belt very close to the one i had its from a 99 2 wheel dr crv .but it didnt work it seems to bee a little too big also but is it really weird couse it is really close to my old timing belt.maybe i put it in wrong but when i tightened the tension bolt the belt was really close to some part that is bolted next to the tension on the left i dont know what its called.but like i said maybe i m eighter putting the belt wrong or the have the wrong belt. my car is an 89 honda civic hb with a zc 1.6 any help is appreciated

you are installing the belt on with crank and cam gear at BTDC, then tightening the tensioner after moving cam gear 3 teeths down? thAt is the proper tightening procedure.
if not, you will go into the "thats not tight enough game." sounds like you are doing your first timing belt change. i would recommend a helms or haynes for specific specs and procedures if you dont know em.

If you're using a DOHC ZC 1.6 you need a 88 Prelude Si belt. Do a search for ZC timing belt on this forum to get the actual part number...

i recommend paying someone else to do it :) get them to change the water pump while they're at it, if that's never been done.
