engine grounding kit

so ive been hearing more and more about grounding kits for engines and that it greatly helps with hp and torque gains and what not...supposedly its true eventho it might only make a slight difference. has anyone done this to their engine and if so did you notice a diff? i know in theory it should work and increase power but mainly help stabilize the electric current flow. where would the best places be to place extra ground points at? any tips would be great, thanx

I did use a hks grounding kit on a 240sx. It came with a couple of diagrams of where to put wires since there were 7 or 8 of them. It did make a difference but nothing that could be labeled as impressive. Havent heard much about them on eclipse's though. Lots on acura\honda\nissan applications

I did a full writeup and install on the kit that I did. Search for 'ground wire' with my username, david-b. You'll find it. Lights do get alittle brighter, and the car does charge alittle better. Supposed to get better throttle response too, but not sure about that. It's basic electronics though. Add thicker, higher amperage wire to any electrical system, and you get better flowing power.

All the wires that I took out were a quite smaller gauge wire than what I replaced with. Then, new wires were added in all around. There's more place for the power to flow, and quicker 'routes' for the power to get to where it's flowing to. This is true in ANY electrical circuit. Gains? Unless you dyno before, install the wires, and dyno again, you'll only see at MOST 1-2hp... if you're lucky. Personally, as stated above, my car does charge slightly better. You won't lose any power by doing it. It may actually help out other mods alittle better. Power is being flowed better and faster, so it should help out alittle. If you have a couple extra bucks, do it. It can't hurt.

thanx guys, thats pretty much how i figured, i do car audio installs all day long so i know how the electricity part of it works, i just wasnt too sure it would do anything to the engine power, ive already replaced a couple factory ground wires with bigger ga wires so we'll see what happens after i do some more, thanx for the help
