Turbo hp boost

I'm kindof a newb to this whole thing so please bear with me. I was browsing through the integra FAQ and someone said that Drag and RevHard turbos were pretty good. I went onto their website to find that they claim that their turbo kits will raise power by over 100 hp and 200 ft/lbs of torque. This seems way too good to be true. What will these kits actually raise hp/tq by?

All depends on the psi you run and the engine. There's really no other way of finding out for sure, except for buying it and slapping the car on the dyno.

A VERY general rule of thumb is that for every PSI of boost you add you get around 10 hp.

yea generally with turbos, u gain about 8 hp per psi but that can vary from 8-10 hp per psi. On average people boost at 8 psi because of their stock internals, adding about 64-80 hp. turbo is the best bang for your money

About how much money would it take to boost the power of a b18c up to a bit over 200hp while keeping it fairly reliable?

hmm you sound really new to this subject. Use the search feature and do your research, youll be surprised all the info youll find. Over 200hp is easy with turbo but turbo cuts your reliability, if u want reliable go supercharger, but it doesnt have as much potential as turbo. and always remember, turbo isnt something you can just slab on, theres a lot more behind it then that. research.

...if u want reliable go supercharger...
What are you talking about? No form of forced induction is reliable. It can be made more reliable with proper tuning, but there's still always a chance of something going wrong (getting a bad batch of gas for instance).

the most reliable way is to just stay n/a but if he wants to go FI and u want reliability, go with a supercharger over a turbo. of course adding FI period in your car doesnt make it reliable but a supercharger is more reliable then a turbo

Actually a turbo'd car with proper tuning would be alot more reliable than any supercharger would. Plain and simple, Turbo>Supercharger.

this has been a big issue turbo vs supercharger. Everyone believes one more reliable than the next, but in reality NO forced induction OR built engine is reliable. You want reliability stay stock. When you modify any vehicle, things break and sometimes the car doesn't like the mods. You must keep this in mind when moding any car.

I would have to say on your car a supercharger due to the fact that you can't over boost that but as for more power turbo is the way to go. There is just no comparing the difference in power that you will gain from a turbo

You should read the H/A forced induction forum and re-think that. I know I've read about boost spikes beyond what is supposed to happen (believe it is superbluecivicsi who has talked about it many times).
