Ok, I'm thinking of buying a 3.8 but I want to know how long the actual chassis and suspension will last. I think by the time I'm out of college and making much more money I'll either ditch it for a WS6 or GTO, or maybe get an engine swap, I know I'll have to upgrade suspension and all, but how many miles will the actual frame last, and will the improved suspension outlast the body?

Unless you drive it into the ocean and let the salt water do its job or park it on unpaved surface for 10 years. It will last for a very very very very very very very very long time.

Suspension will last a while too, well as long as you dont go trying to do road courses pushing your car to the limit every weekend.

What does parking it on an unpaved surface have anything to do on it? I mean does regular ground/dirt really hurt it that bad?

Dirt and lawns hold moisture and will saturate the underbody with rust. Trust me. Seen it a million times.
