is there any tips removing the cylinderhead, like the tighingchain etc
i need to place the rocker arm

What year and model car do you have? And BMW doesnt make push rod engines, so there are no rocker arms.

BMW doesnt make push rod engines, so there are no rocker arms. If your hearing a tapping noise you could possibly need a valve adjustment.

You must first remove the timing chain tensioner to take the load off the timing chain. Then loosen the timing chain from the cam gear, but don't allow it to drop down into the engine. I usually tie the chain with a piece of wire. Once you have the head off, you have to remove the rocker arm bar that extends thru the head. There are two bars, one is for the intake valves, and the other for the exhaust valves. Remove only the bar that holds the broken rocker arm. NOTE: These bars can only be removed from the rear of the cylinder head.Each bar has circleclips mounted between each rocker arm and must be removed before trying to pull out the bar. DO NOT HAMMER on the bar. Many of the bars have a hex head on the rear and you can take a allen wrench and twist the bar back and forth until it slides out. Sometimes they come out easy, sometimes not. Once you remove the bar, you can remove all the rocker arms. If you cannot remove the bar, then most likely it is bent and you will have to replace it once you do get it out. I would really recommend buying a Bentley Manual and study it carefully before you attempt this. I've rebuilt a few of these bimmers (Big 6) and you really need to know what your doing.
