After an hour of tearing apart dash, going through wires, replacing 5 tail light fuses, i have found the problem. THE F'N STEREO? when it was disconnected all was fine. So i put everything back together and dash and tail lights went out again. S&^%!!!! Took everything back off, unplugged stereo, replaced fuse and all was fine. What the hell? I use to install stereos, have installed many on the side for myself and friends and have never run into this problem b4. I put in a pioneer cd player and only tapped into the power, acc, and ground. Why would this cause that problem? I will try some rewiring, do a manual ground instead of running it in the same ground in factory wire and see what happens. So if you are encountering the same problem, have checked all the wiring for shorts and have found none, UNPLUG YOUR STEREO AND TRY THAT!

Eclipses have the problem of fuses being blown when using the default power wires when installing an aftermarket stereo. The inside/rear lights fuse blows. You need to find another positive connection. I can't find out what the cause of it is... neither could my friends who are professional stereo installers. Just can't always do it. It is the (+) that's doing it. Ground it anywhere

Dont know. I hooked mine up directly to a constant (+) power source. Already got a fused wire coming into the interior from the (+) battery terminal. Used for underbodies, radio, and DVD/LCD. Could have on while car is off. Drained my battery a couple times :-(, but i've yet to blow a fuse since doing, so that says alot.
