well on my way home this morning my car caught on fire and it was kinda scary.i puuled over and my hood started to bubble up and i was like oh shit.the people behind me pulled over and told me not to open the hood because of a flash.i said fuck that theres alot of money under the hood and its all i have.i opened the hood and it did flash but when i pulled over at a empty house there hose was right there and after i got it out it looked alot worse than it really was.the flames were about two feet high but it could have burnt to the ground if that hose was not there.im cleaning it now but please check your feed and return lines for leaks because thats what happened.a-n fitting came apart and oil sprayed everywhere and of course, instant fire.ill post more later!

sorry to hear that man. That's why i always carry an extinguisher in my back seat. Might not look pretty, but it's worth it.

ehh just for sympathy's sake ... same shit happened to my tercel... on the 2nd motor i decided to install a oil pressure gauge just for saftey's sake and i didn't opt for the high-quality copper tubing kit... used the stock nylon one .... ran that sucker for a year and a half till i was driving up a steep hill and i guess the manifold got pretty hot and it melted, swelled up like a balloon and split, spraying oil everywhere and starting a fire.... fortunately i got the fire out, and fixed the hose along side the road ... threw a quart in it and drove it home... good luck on cleanup man!

Might wanna check your timing belt and such too. Wouldn't want that to have splintered from the heat of the fire.
