Best exhaust for my Dakota

I have a 2002 Dakota Extended Cab with the 4.7L Magnum. What would be the best dual exhaust for a balance between performance and sound? I would like to keep as much of my torque and horsepower as possible but I would also like to have that deep, aggressive sound. I don't want them too loud though. One of my friends had 4x4 Chevy with straight pipes that he put on by himself. He was given a warning by the cops for noise disturbance and his dad gave him some money to get bent pipes but instead he blew the money on something else and was enventually given a ticket for not changing his pipes. Getting back to the story,I was looking at maybe getting Flowmaster 40 or 50 series mufflers. Let me have your opinion on what I should get. By the way I would like to keep the cost under $300 but no more than $350. I also plan on getting a new chip and air intake if someone would like to comment on those best selections. Thanks in advance!

I have a 4.7 Dak.
I did my research on exhaust systems, you will be more than happy with the same setup I have!!
Check out my web site and see my dual exhaust setup. I'm running a Magnaflow muffler with 2.25" pipes and 3" tips. The sound is amazing and I gained some power but mostly torque.
I also have sound clips, so take a listen. Of course they sound a lot deeper and louder in person. The interior sound level is just perfect, it only gets loud when you put the pedal to the metal. :iceslolan
If you want to keep cost down go for an aluminized custom bent setup. If you live in a cold climate and salt is used on the roads. The system will last about 3-5yrs. That's why I paid extra for an all stainless steel setup.

I did check out your site before I posted the message and your setup was pretty nice. By the way I haven't even got the Dakota yet. I get it tomorrow. I CAN'T WAIT!!! I only paid #$11,000 for an 2002 ext cab with 44,000 miles. I got a great deal!!!
I would like get the stainless steel but would it last in the southeast where I happen to live? Also how much would the same setup that you got cost now?
Thanks for the quick reply!!!

You did get a good deal on that Dak!!
Stainless Steel will out last the truck. If you plan on keeping it, spent a bit more and get it in SS.
I paid $700(cdn) for mine system. Look to spend about $400-$500 for a good custom SS dual system. But then again it all depends on the shop you go to, it could be cheaper.
