did a burnout comming out of my school parking lot last school year with my camaro. cop caught me at next light. i told him that i was learning how to drive manual (which was bull, i knew what i was doing) and that i let the clutch out to fast. he gave me a warning.

can they really give u a ticket for someting like this.

yes, i did the same on the first day of school but i wasnt trying to burn out, as i took off i was trying to take of hard to catch up with my friend because he was taking me out to his house and i didnt know how to get there, so anyway i hit some gravle and gave a small "squeaaaak" and just told the cop the situation and that i had just had a 4.10 put in the rear (which was bull, the truck came with one, but a 3.23 to a 4.10 does make a huge difference) and he gave me a warning. however for intentionally squealing tires, especailly if you do it to the point you lay down markes or create any sort of smoke or odor deffanitly constitues an improper start and/or reckless or carless driving.
but i do think it is bull that a cop can give you an improepr start if you do like i did and just hit some gravle that is in the road, it isnt my fault our county is too poor to get street sweepers....

i agree. that should apply to people just learning a manual. the thing is that day it was cold and the carb on the camaro was actn up and it stalled in the lot 3 times. i was going to give it extra gas so it would not stall but it think it was a little 2 much, lol, cause i left marks about 50ft long.

Once I chirped my tires in my 66' olds, accidently, got a ticket. Several tickets later I hav learned something, look and see is one of these Public Servants are lurking in the shadows. Oh ya, they like to 'hang out' close to schools, esspecially at quitin time. LOL!

IT is refered to as an "unsafe start from a stopped possition". Its different from state to state, but it is another offense if you are moving, lets say 10mph or above, its reckless driving here in Indiana.

yea the next day i found out he was hiding in the circle they built next to the school. everyone saw me get stopped, lol. I was famous for about a week. I did get off with a warning cause i didn't act like an arogent asshole. plus i found out the guy owned like 3 vettes so i think he understood, lol.

when i was in High School i had a 76 Camaro...every day after school i did a burnout in the parking lot after school. On a Wednesday i got called to the office. Principal said he seen me and told me to stop. That day, after school i did a powerbrake and left a set 100 feet long after school. the next day, after school i left a set only to find a cop hidden watching me...he gave me 2 tickets...abrubt start and reckless endangerment. I knew the school called the cops on me...so....on Friday night at 4 am i went to the football field and let it rip for about 30 minutes.

Yes you can get a ticket. I was sick and i let my friend drive my car. well he decided to be a smart ass and spin them up. Well cop sees us and pulls us over. luckily it was a buddy of mine so he let us off.

When I was a senior in high school, we used to do burnouts in the parking lot after school for a good half-hour. Nobody ever did anything. On the last day of school you could see the smoke for miles. Heck, there was even a teacher who participated with his big yellow 70s cadillac LOL

Here is a hint if you carb is acting up and you squeal the tires on take off...let off the gas ;) or press the clutch in.
going and tearing up the stadium w/ black marks proves nothing...
for some unknown reason we cant squeal tires but we can go out into the softball practice feild (that is all grown over and is really just basses on grass) and the grass parking lot for the soccer feilds and do donuts all day long. before every soccer practice before coach gets there, there are massive clowds of dust from people doing donuts.
