My parents just bought an '05 Envoy two months ago. They have been smelling an odor from the air-condition. When in the Envoy my moms face and neck starts to itch and my dad gets a very bad headache and becomes extremely nauseated. The dealership repair shop said it's due to a "growth" in the A/C. Has anyone heard of this? The Envoy has been worked on four times now and still not fixed. Also the dealership refuses to let my parents see the invoices of warrenty work done on the Envoy.

I have experienced the same on my 05 Envoy. Dealer has told me it is condensation in the duct work? I have found I don't have the problem when I use outside air in place of recycled air? It is still a PITA!

I had the same problem on my TrailBlazer, there a temp fix I bought at canadian tire. but my smell seems to come back after about 2 months after using that spray.

mine was doing the same thing.if you have the auto temp control hvac system the dealer can reprogramme the hvac module to activate the after blow feature.if not they install an after blow module. It turns on the heater blower to dry the evaporator core so the mold can't grow. Here is the part # 12497910. to get rid of the smell open the glove box and lift the little tab on the top left to allow the glove box to swing all the way down.then put the heater in recirculate mode and run the fan on high. spray the cleaner in to the hvac box at the top through the glove box hole, I used lysol and it seemed to do the trick.once it starts coming out the vents turn it off and let it sit. then after a while open the windows and turn on the fan and air it out. This worked great for me.let me know how it turns out.
