Dies when I fill up gas tank...

I just got my '01 Celica GT on monday and I drove it home from the dealer. Went to take a shower and decided to take it out for a ride. So when I went to fill it up with gas, I filled it up all the way and when I started it, it reved up and just died. I tried to start it again. It started up and then died again. Well, I decided to do it again. Well this time when I started it, I started it and I heard "PSHT" like a blow off, like something blew off and after that it wouldn't start.

I called the dealer and they brouight it in and I get it back the next day and they told me it was something like the "brake booster vacuum something" and they just fixed that and told me my car is good to go now, and they gave it back to me.

Well my gas lasted me 4 more days on a full tank(Awesome gas mileage!) and when I filled up again as you probably know it DID THE EXACT SAME THING!!! Well I called the dealer and the towing company and they came and towed it again. When it got their and they checked it out, they said it was running fine and there was nothing wrong with my car. At this point I am fuming considering:

1. They are trying to call me liar
2. They are trying to make me pay for the tow
3. They are trying to give me back a broken car
4. I have a warranty on it and it says that they will give me a rental if my car is in the shop for any reason during the first 30 days(and this is the 4th day I have had it) and now their teling me they don't want to give me a rental.

Well a little bit of swearing and talking to the new car sales rep i finally get my way and I got a 2005 mitsubishi galant BRAND NEW for a rental car and they are fixing my car, but enough with the story.

My question is does anyone know what could be worng with my car? I mean its only when I fill up for gas. Well I don't know its the only time but when I stop like at a stop light it feels like the car is about to die because the idle is really low. I want to try to figure out what is wrong with the car just incase they try to give me the car back if it is still broken.

Thanks for reading this LONG thread,
Nick

you could take it to a mechanic shop you trust and have it put onto a computer tester, just to let them check it out the next time it happens, unless your lucky and know someone who has one, course it should be throwing codes when it tries to die at the light

Well I was driving down the road and I noticed that the check engine light just turned on and I didn't know why. I was going to bring it into the shop but I was just going to wait untill Friday when I was off. So maybe it did throw out some codeds when it was almost dying.

no he won't, hyundai doesn't give a **** about the lemon law, we claimed a hyundai elantra on it within 1 week of buying it and the motor blowing up, and apart, they refused to give us our money back and a new vehicle, and the courts wouldn't do squat about it

oh hell yeah its in the shop right now, hopefully it will be fixed by today. I bought the car from a mitsubishi/mazda dealer and the first time it broke they shipped in there, then when it broke again they figured out that the problem was not the thing that they fixed. so now they shipped it to the toyota deal RIGHT NEXT DOOR!!! lol, they told me they dont want to pay for the tow truck anymore and I told them to bad they dont fic it right, their going to have to.
