bleeding the brakes did not work!!!

well i bled the brakes and that did not fix the problem, you pump the brakes and they get hard but then when you hold them down the pedal slowly goes to the floor. Master cylinder?

That sounds exactly like a master cylinder problem. Do you have any brake fuid leaks anywhere?

no leaks anywhere, i checked it all out, well looks like i will have to pick one up, i priced one yestarday there only $40.

i had the same problem about a year ago. We bled the breaks as well. We figured it was the master cylinder, it was. After taking out the old master cylinder we looked inside. Inside it was gooy thick fluid like cholesterol. Now a year later ive been having the same problem. i don't know if it stems from something else or not.

What year is your Stratus, mine is a 99 with a 2.4 engine.
