I just need some input from you guys. I'm not asking for how to count calories, how to exercise and how far to jog, etc.
Now, why Im asking these questions. Im 5'11", around there. I weight around 230-235. Yeah, I know Im fat. At this weight, I got some sweet B cups that laugh at JR high girls chest. I also got a helluva gut. Like a beer belly. I would like to get to 200 atleast and sense school has started, why not get on track and eat better. No meals every few hours, bag of chips &salsa, etc.
I was thinking of just, well..keeping track of what I eat, no take out and good stuff like that. For school days I usually get cereal in the morning, sometimes with an egg and cheese. For lunch, I just hang out with my friends, usually get a propel, thats about it though. When I get home I have a good sized meal. Like spaghetti, chicken&mashed potatos, that kind of thing.
I was wondering, would I lose weight at my height and weight? I believe I would, but it will take a while, because I would still be eating a lot of high calorie and carbs.
So, guys..how do you keep yourself on your diet and not flake off and slowly start eating junk food and burger king and all that great stuff?
And, any foods you think I should start eating? I know I should eat lunch, but its a waste of time. I see friends that I really never see besides lunch, and I cant talk to them in class or anything.
Thanks for any help. And, I could exercise some, I suppose :eek7:

Diet: Getting your diet right is a lot of hard work. The thing that helped me was finding healthy foods that I liked. Just slowly start incorporating healthy food into your diet until that is all that is left. Everyone eats unhealthy food sometimes. Once you get into a habit of eating healthy that is what you will do most of the time. Some people advocate "cheat days" but you have to find what works for you.
Exercise: Just start off slowly. Maybe one day a week of cardio for a little while. As that becomes a habit slowly add resistance training and more cardio.

You might want to try eating more for breakfast, having lunch, and reducing your portions at dinner. Cutting meals kills your metabolism. And drink lots of water!! So called "fitness" water is not really good for you unless you really need to hydrate rapidly(intense exercise). Try eliminating all drinks that have ingredients other than H2O from your diet. Some people don't realise how many calories they take in this way. I don't like diet drinks because many of them have been proven to have long term health risks.

Yup, diet drinks are going to really fuck your kidneys up something bad, cut them out.
Definitely have breakfast, it's so important for your metabolism, I have one of the worst records for eating breakfast there is and I'm sure I'd be dropping weight quicker if I did eat it (But eh, I aint doing all that bad).
For breakfast try having a piece of wholemeal toast (I have it with Vegemite, but obviously that's a bit of a foreign food in North America :p), a boiled egg and a bowl of cereal that's a pretty balanced meal right there, for lunch have a sandwhich with lean roast beef and as much salads and stuff that you can put in it and dinner well that depends really, at the moment you get what you're given, but try and eat a smaller portion.
I think it's a deficiency of 14,000 kJ every week you need to get rid of 500g of fat, that's about 3000 calories roughly, you can burn about 2000 of them by running around 15 Km a week (Depending on weight that's about how much I burn on my 15Km worth runs and I'm 95 Kg). I've also been building muscle at the gym as well, there is no better way to speed up the metabolism than have nicely maintained muscles.
How do I stay motivated? I just look at the old pics of myself with the gut, tits and double chin etc. then look at myself in my fit(ter) state and say "No fuckin way am I going back there again"
