thats what im looking for, a used transmission, but i cant find any!
My transmission works, but i just got an engine installed, and the people said i need a tranny, and mien is making a loud noise, today it started smelling like burnt plastic!

what kind of noise? and since its manual and you said you got a bad smell, do you think it could just be the clutch? my 1g made some weird noise right as my clutch was on its way out.. just a thought

maybe you just suck at driving a stick? hehe. no you should look maybe in the junkyard you can find some alright trannys there. And what kinda noise is it, and why did they say you needed a new one?

in 3rd, 4th and 5th, i get like a loud wooooaaaaaa noise, and the noise increases and the rpm do, and when i shift, i feel like a grinding in the shifter, and it shifted out once out of 1st gear when i was making like a sharp left.
i got the engine installed like 2 weeks ago, engine has like 40,000 miles on it, original miles on the car is 118k, i also had a fidenza flywheel and a like oem replacement Exedy clutch kit put in w/ the engine install, i think i did rev the car up a lill bit too much, i was adjusting the seat while reversing, then i smelled the burn smell!, but i drove the car after that and it went away,

That smell you smelt is probably that of you burning up the clutch, but even once or twice shouldn't bhe detramentalk to your tranny. Hm. But I kn ow a new tranny isn't to muc price wise. just check around for a new one. I see you got a new clutch and fly well. As long as thet are performance ones, you are golden, and it will just make things easier now than later.

That smell you smelt is probably that of you burning up the clutch, but even once or twice shouldn't bhe detramentalk to your tranny. Hm. flywheel..... mine did the same.. not saying for sure but most likely... you said they installed a new clutch? well my guess is the didnt torque your flywheel bolts and its doin that. everything your saying sounds all too familiar. id get it checked out, because eventually on mine it popped completely off and broke a bunch of things, and even cracked my tranny, i have a pic of it if you wanna see the damage it did. so check it out!
