valet vs. "regular" key question/problem

Wife took the 99 millenia and is using the valet key. (The key that looks the same as my regular key but made on a flatter key blank).
Now she can't start the car. Key goes in the ignition but doesn't turn.
Key can't open trunk either but opens and locks the door fine, and sets the alarm fine too. She said she was in the trunk for something right before this happened.
She said the automatic steering wheel was resetting also when she opened the car with the key.
Had her switch valet button in the glove compartment and this didn't make a difference.
Before I drive over to her and bring my "regular" key, any suggestions?
Is this some kind of engine kill mechanism or do I have some kind of problem?
Thanks in advance,
ab
