I have a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme SL with a 3.1 V6 engine. and lately the vents dont seem to work..it blows fine but it only comes out of the front window defrost vent..and the floor vents..it wont change to anything else..only both of those. it wont switch to the regular vents...or just one of the two vents...anything i can do to check what it might be..or what can it be..my first guess is that a pencil or something got caught in the trap doors for the vent system..but my dad says its something with the vaccum hoses...what do you guys think..any help would rock! thnx

They are actuated by vacumm. My 92 Cutless Supreme SL valves are located below the glove box compartment -- inside the dash. The glove box compartment in mine removes by just pulling on it. I have a bad valve also, cannot get airflow to the upper vents. I hope this helps you a little bit.

The valves are located next to the ducting with a vacumm line attached. The valves I have are circular and attach to a adjusting rod, that operates the air duct. Look around the ducting and if they are like mine, they will be near the ducting.

i dont know what the problem is...the lines that go to each control arm thing have no suction...could it be that box where all the lines are routed to. or is there a bigger line somewhere else from the engine i should check out?
