Front end rattle

I am sure that a lot of people have problems with front end for passats, where it rattles and sometimes it sounds like it will fall off. Anyone have any ideas about it? Should I change the control arms or is there cheaper and easier solution? Any input is appreciated.

ebay has sets for 500 and includes all control arms
