Is there anybody up there than can give me an idea what the problem with my 1997 Grand Prix GTP would be?
I had to jump start the car, I let it run for thirty minutes at idle, as soon as I put it in gear it died, It will turn over but not start. It has no spark to the plugs and the fuel pump has no power. I plugged in a code reader but only give me "Err" on the screen, I went into the EQUUS web sight and it wouldn’t give me an answer to the "Err" on the screen for the OBDII. Is there a fusible link I should look at or possibly the "Power Control Module" not working? The driver info screen on the number digits is blinking and the "service Engine Soon" Light is on continuous. Is there something in the "ECM" would cause this? I have checked all the relays and fuses again & again. Maybe I am overlooking somthing Please help Thanks

as with all strange electrical gremlins, check all grounds and battery cable connections for looseness and corrosion. The "err" on your code reader usually indicates no communicaton, which could be caused by no power to the ALDL. And just to be clear, you checked both the underhood relay center and the one next to the glove box, correct?

There may be several issues here. First the crank position sensor may be bad as to why it will not start and run. Located behind the harmonic balancer. 2. The fuel pump resistor may be bad causing the fuel pump not to work. This will show you how to replace the resistor. http://rmcgp.clubgp.com/fpresistor.html This will show you how to bend a tab on the fuel pump relay to see if the resistor is bad. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=354943&highlight=fuel+pump+relay
As for the PCM it is unlikely that it has gone bad but that possibility exists especially if you cannot contact it with a scanner. The Err code may be coming from the connection not the PCM itself but that is difficult to determine. You may want to check all the connections to the PCM to make sure they are fully seated and that they are not corroded or dirty. You may have to replace it with another to see if the car will start.
Check the ignition control module under the coils it may have gone bad as well and will not allow you to get spark. Hopefully some of these ideas will help.

I checked all the fuses and relay without taking out the wireloom yet.
ALDL? Would you tell me what that is?

sorry, ALDL is your Assembly Line Diagnostic Link, or the plug that you hook your scanner to.
