When I drive my 2000 Chevy Blazer im starting to hear almost like a humming sound coming from the front whenever I accelerate or am driving and move the steering wheel to the left or right. A friend of mine who was in the car with me without even looking at the car said that it sounds like it could be the bearings. I need to make an appointment to take it to the dealer. My question is, would this be covered under my extended warranty?
thanks

I don't know if extended warranties cover it. It sounds like the wheel hub, for some reason my truck has gone thru 2 on the drivers side and non on the passenger. If I remember correctly it is a few hundred dollars for the part and an hour to replace. If you do the work yourself you can pick them up New on ebay for about a buck and a half.

Thanks for the quick reply. Im going to take it in to the dealer and let them look at it. Hopefully its covered. I have a $0 deductible on my extended warranty.

Yea, something is not right and it could be your front differential partially engaged.
Cycle from 4wd to 2wd a couple of time in park and then see if it goes away.

I tried doing that but it didnt help. If that would be the case, do you think that would be covered under my extended warranty?

I took the Blazer to the dealer today and sure enough the problem was the right front hub bearing. It was replaced under my extended warranty which is good until Oct 2006. My question is, what would a Chevy dealer charge me for something like this if I did not have the extended warranty?
thanks
