Almost there! 17s or 18s!

For my 95 Accord Sedan. I've narrowed choice to Axis Mod in 18s, or Kyowa Racing KR228 in 17s or 18s. 18 decision is uncertain due to considering of weight but I'm told that the additional 6 or so lbs. per wheel is like adding about 60lbs of total weight. That's not much different from when I'm driving with or without my kid in the car.

Anybody have experience with Kyowa Racing wheels or www.wheelstudio.com? The Kyowa KR228 17" weighs only 15.4lb, the 18" weighs only 17.4lb!

IMO 18s are too big. Get 17s if not 16s.

Ok... let me see if I can clarify my request. I wasn't asking for opinions on 17s versus 18s, or go 16s. Going plus1 to 16s from 15s is a stupid idea to begin with and a complete waste of money.

I am strictly asking if anybody has any experience with Kyowa Racing wheels, quality, service, etc. I am going 17s or 18s, so let's end that subject matter.

I must be dealing with a bunch of kids in this forum. "OK OK chill..." get over will you. I asked a specific question and get nothing. Bunch of high schoolers or wannabe adults... geez.

Or... no one here has used rims from that company or heard of that site. Most people either buy known brand rims or go to Pep Boys and buy the cheap (both in price and usually quality) ones.

Try asking over at honda-tech.com, there seems to be a co-sponsored drag car over there by Kyowa and another company. They'd know better than a bunch of "kids"

what are you using the car for?

you also have to realize the difference between have the kid in the car and having heavier wheels.

The wheels will add more rotational mass and unsprung weight so that will slow you down a little and be harder on your tranny. so just plus sizing 1 is not a stupid idea to begin with. It's an intelligent decision to make if you're trying to make a race car.

BUT if you're just looking for style and cruising (i.e. having your kid in the car, and having an accord sedan) just buy whatever wheel looks best regardless of weight.

since when does 6X4=60??? go back to elementry school and learn to do math before you come here trying to insult someone giving you his :2cents:.... oh, in case you didnt know.... 6x4=24...not 60....there would have to be a 15lbs difference in each wheel to add 60lbs... and incase you wanted to buy 5 wheels (one for a spare)... that would only be 30lb difference

And to answer your question, i think 18's look horrible on honda's...if the choice is only 17's or 18's... go 17's.... and that will allow more sidewall on the tire so they wont crack as easily.

well it sounds like you are going for looks, so if i were u i'd go with the axis mods, they look much better and are a better brand of wheel(in my opinion) axis is a very respected brand, and as for size, the mod only comes in 18x7.5 and over, and since it is a 3 piece wheel than it will be much heavier than the kyowa's, but if ur goin for more of racing, go with seventeens(since u dont want 16's), and they're light, and make sure u get good quality tires, but i agree with green blurr too, u wont have a lot of sidewall so that means your ride will be a little rougher and ur handling wont be as great, 18's are also hard on ur brakes and suspension

Even if he is going for looks and not performance, 18s are still too big to look nice on hondas.
