The other day driving home I felt the tranny slipping at 80mph and then 5 minutes later it slipped in all gears. I can not move it at all in any gear. At first their was no fluid leak that I could see. Then after I got it home I noticed it is leaking from the rear seal where the tranny meets the shaft. Does the transmission need to be rebuilt or is the torque converter ineffective because of a loss of pressure. The transmission fluid was topped off when I checked it.

My tranny was slipping some time ago, but after the high mileage that i put on that poor Astro van, i was impressed that she kept on going. after 400,000.00 KM my tranny slipped and loss all gears and i couldn't stand driving with my hazards on at 30 km/hr. had it towed.

To cut the story short. My tranny was rebuild and updated. the mechanic that rebuild my tranny told me that those type of tranny "700 model" were weak. the torque converter was fine but i told them to replace it for a cargo heavy duty one which they did and the tranny updated and rebuild. i have now a 2 years warranty and the clutch shifts nicely and what a difference. for 2,200.00 bux? well worth the money. have it rebuild, that would be the best you could do and you won't regret it. I am happy with mine :iceslolan
