Exhaust leak

I've been getting this weird noise coming from the engine/tranmission area recently and the other weekend I had a chance to jack up the car and take a look at the area to see what was wrong (I was thinking like a cracked heatshield or something). When I got under there I didnt notice anything right away but after a while I saw that the top exhaust manifold bolt on the rear cylinder on the driver's side was snapped onn with a portion of it still left in the head. I've heard somewhere else that in order to get these manifolds off you need to pull the entire engine to do it. I was just wondering if that's true and/or if you guys had any suyggestions. Thanks in advance for the help.

You have to disconnect the steering shaft and move it out of the way. Also remove the bolt that holds the dipstick tube in place.

bird is right the most you might have to loosen the motor mount on that side to get clearance
