Does anyone know if it is possible to convert or add propane to the new body style trucks with the 5.3? Or if it would be worth it. I talked to a guy who said he knew someone who had a truck, dont know if it was chevy or not but he said that the guy got 1600 miles to a full tank.

look in http://www.dualcurve.com/ I do not know if there would be a protocol change on this year´s truck to the new CAN communications protocol like ford and Dodge did on some trucks, so check if the autotronics PN5929 will still work for you, I´v used it for a couple of years now and with gas prices hitting 3 bucks a gallon, propane is heaven on earth.
