Buying an Integra, Security+Maintenance Questions

Hi,
I was just about to buy a 2000 integra GS coupe(101,000km) and was just wondering about two things. First of all, i'll be parking at a subway station so I don't really trust the security of the parking lots there. I've already had a car stereo stolen from me there *but that was because I was stupid enough to leave the faceplate in my glove compartment :banghead:*
Anyways, my question was, should I invest in something like a brake/clutch/steering wheel lock or some sort of security alarm upgrade or would my stock security system be enough? I don't want this car stolen within a week of me buying it hehe. I do have insurance obviously but I don't like the $1000 deductible part.
Secondly, as I'm buying it at 101,000km, what sort of maintenance should I have done? Winter is coming soon too. I heard something about having my timing belt changed to prevent any major problems later? Anything else I should have checked out? And also, what would be the estimated price for all this to be done?

you should change your timing belt soon. I had a friend get his timing belt replaced on his LS and it cost 1100 buck!!!! So if you know how to do it your self, i would.

Acura recommends to change the timing belt at 90,000 miles. I did it on my 97 Integra at 120,000. When you change the timing belt, change the water pump at the same time and replace all drive belts, too. You have to open the engine anyway. You can do it yourself, but it is rather involved because of the need to disassemble much of the engine and the confined space to work in. If you bring it to a local mechanic, it should run you about $800, incl. all parts (water pump, drive belts, timing belt, seals).

good advice. Also replacing all the filters, fluids, plugs isn't a bad idea, that way you know where your at with everything instead of guessing.

I think alarms are some of the biggest rip-offs on the automotive market. What do most people do when they hear an alarm? They ignore it. My best advice is installing a hidden kill switch which only cost less than $5.00. I've made posts about kill switches as have others, SEARCH!
