ok i know i had a bunch of questions about the 351 i was going to put in my car, but i think i found the engine im going to get, was just woundering what you people think about it,

and how hard do you think it will be to put this eninge in, i herd it only takes new headers, new engine mounts, and possibly a new hood. thanks.

Your gonna spend 13,000 bucks on a crate motor?

does the air cleaner rest on top of the manifold on that?

im not totaly shure, and did you read it, its a 351 that is a 425 cubic inches that makes 550 hp dud.

Your gona boost on top of that? If so, you are going to have major problems, dude! Its a great crate engine, but your body is going to twist up like a pretzel.

Then that engine is almost perfect, but it has too many cubes for my taste. I like an engine that can rev a little more and last a little longer than that one, but to each his own.

what do you mean it has to many cubes, whats wrong with cubes, and what do you mean rev a little higher and last longer.

Its just the way I like my engines, too long of a stroke is not good on an engine if you want it to last a certain amount of miles. I doubt that engine would last more than 40k, unless you babed it all the time. That is a very long stroke, that is all I am saying.

Listen to Skyline ( I got your back bro :bigthumb: ). Thats over a 4" stroke dude! Can you just imagine the side load that engine will see? Even with those lightweight probe pistons and 4340 rods that thing is gonna wear the shit outta your cylinder walls and in a damn hurry. Ya thats a great engine if you want to stop by every gas station you see and fill up. Then pull it apart about once a year to check for wear to make sure there isnt anything you need to fix before it breaks. Sure it would be a fun engine, but as Skyline said, it wont last long. I just couldnt justify that kinda money for such an engine. Buy a Dart Iron Eagle block (they make both 302 & 351w based blocks), 4340 crank/rods, Mahle or Probe pistons, TFS Hi-Ports, Weiand Xcelerator, CSU 750, and a turbo. You will have basically have trouble free tuning, more power and daily driver capable, for that kinda cash! But if your sold on EFI which is fine, I still say you can do better than that by putting together your own combo. I'm like Skyline, thats just too many cubes for a street driven small block motor. Thats why I didnt stroke my windsor even when my machine shop wanted me to stroke it to a 410. .030" overbore is all I did and that was because I had to. Well, .020" over would have been fine but in order to "true" the cylinders & ease of pistons, I let them punch it out .030". :2cents:

essentially they are saying study up and build your own, and for that kind of bread you could pimp out a sick block.

1k on the the carb and bonnet
1k on fuel
1.5k forged internal
.5k block
1k valve train
3k turbo T76
1.5k wide band, and other gauges
.5k roll cage
1k brakes
1k suspension
1k for exaust and aftercooler
2k heads
1k C4
2k for the car (R32 GTR)
1k tires
1k rims

And still going! This will give you an idea where I am at.

If you look at just the engine, its complete at the same price for the one pimp listed. And I can self tune. That 10k engine pimp listed will run you another 3k for fuel, exhaust, tune, etc. But what do I know?
