CV Joints on 2000 Intrepid

Just wondering if anyone has run into a problem with their CV Joints, and if so what was the cost of replacing them. I have been told that it would cost $740 CAD seems very high. Any thoughts.

I'm taking an informal poll of people with CV joint problems, my question is: Do you apply the parking brake before you put it in Park , after or usually not at all?
Everyone that I have asked that had CV joint problems didn't usually apply the brake or they applied it after the allowing the car to coast forward or back after taking their foot off of the main brake.

I never use my parking brake.
