Have a 95 Blazer (Lot of things wrong with it I think It has a 96 engine in it though) Idles really rough and starts to smooth out when going about 30 but gets really bad when you get to about 55. first questiion has the W 4.3 in it and the Enhanced Distributor Ignition, with the topside connectors. my book has the firing order but the picture is different than I've ever seen, shows the side connectors and has them numbered can some one help me with the firing order please I think I have it right but want to eliminate the possibility of it being wroing.

see the haynes is what I have too. but Mine's the EDI and are the #'s on the distributor in the pic the order the distributor fires at or the # of the cylinder that they go to? They are almost the same order as the cylinders but the 1 and 3 are different (Misprint?) anyway the Blazer I have is a 95 by the Vin #, but........ as I have found out the hard way that originally it had to have had the Z 4.3 but now has the W 4.3 and I think it is a 96 eng, but not for sure, the only reason I say this is because it already had and seemed to run better with the 96 style spark plugs and gap. anyway I think I'm going to find a chilton manual for it and look at the firing order in it. hey BlazerLT could you pop your hood and see how your plug wires are run for me?

If you have this style engine, you have the late 95 CPI... (with the side post mount distributor) Your issue seems like a typical CPI/Nut kit leak

Follow the diagram, it is NOT a misprint.

1&3 are swapped like that.

It's an EDI ignition with top post distributor, so can't just match the numbers on the diagram and just wanted to double check everything. I did have it right got to look at a side post cap and match up to make sure.

Go from the one post on the cap and connect it to the plug then follow the firing order around clockwise.
