If you mean dohc... then no, niether of them have dual over head cams. As far as which one is better... it depends on who you talk to. There are plenty of lt1/lt4 diehards out there. The same goes for the ls1. Both are great engines. The ls1 has more technology put into it and usually tends to put out more power( at least from what Ive seen). The ls1 seems to be a superior design as far as efficiency goes and is a better engine but thats not to say that the lt1 is bad. Though some people would debate with you all day about that one. What are you looking to do?

both engines are OHV(overhead valve), the only small block chevy that was ever DOHC was the LT5 which isn't made anymore, plus it is extremely rare and very very expensive. the lt1 and ls1 are two completely different generations of the sbc... the lt1 is the "final" or "ultimate" gen II design, were as the ls1 is the gen III design. the ls1 comes out with a bit more power in just about all cases, but they are close. here is some of their differences

lt1: alluminum intake
ls1: composite intake with very different and better runners
lt1: alluminum typical sbc cylinder heads
ls1: alluminum cylinder heads with very different intake and exhaust ports, (exhaust ports are evenly spaced unlike having two close together on the typical sbc)
lt1: cast iron block, 2 bolt mains (lt4 had 4-bolt mains)
ls1: alluminum block, 6-bolt mains
lt1: 90 degree V8
ls1: 60 degree V8 (some1 check i may have forgotten, i know its less than 90)
lt1: single coil w/ optispark ignition system
ls1: distributor-less coil per cylinder ignition
lt1: camshaft driven water pump (different than most sbc's)
ls1: belt driven water pump (like most sbc's)

that's all i can come up w/ off the top of my head right now... some1 add to this i've forgotten something...
