My bro and I were working on his STD yesterday this guy who lives down the street offerd to swap his 88' Integra RS for my bro's 90' STD Hatchback. The Integra's Engine block reads D16A1 and is in perfect running condition. Everything works on the teg. It's the 2 door hatch model. It also has 5 speed tranny. All interior intact, No cracks or torn seats.
My bro's Civic only has 75 HP maybe less cuz the engine is so worn. The only thing good that he does have is the complete CRX Si dash swap.
How good is the after market support for those 88' Tegz?
IS IT WORTH IT??
P.S. my bro's car is'nt running right now.

A Civic STD can swap in anything whereas an 88 Teg won't swap anything. Keep the Civic hatch and just swap the engine.

You think we should buy it from him? He's asking $600. Will his engine and rear disk brakes swap easily onto the STD??

No problem, man. If it's clean it would make a nice beater/commuter but I wouldn't bother trying to "modify" it...

good idea dude, the std hatchies are like one of the most reliable cars i ever messed with. great on gas too! dont know too much bout those tegs but im guessing with high mileage and all.. those engines cant take that much abuse.. i could be wrong tho

Yeah, I just gave him $100 to hold it. He told me to just give him the rest when I can. He also gave me the keys. That way I can be sure that he is not driving it and doggin' the engine. Pretty cool guy if you ask me.

The D16A1 is essentially a ZC motor with mild cams and a smaller intake manifold. Any parts that fit a ZC will fit a D16A1 (except cam gears, but F22 gears fit). Also, Hasport sells swap kits, so you can swap any motor you want into the Integra. Or you can also buy a 1G CRX and swap EVERYTHING from the Integra into the lighter CRX!
