engine wiring harness

anyone got one for sale around chicago? my wires are totally shot and i want to see if i replace them if the car will turn over if not its just going to be sold as a part car to make room for the TA, but if it runs maybe it can survive the weekend and possible live to run again

Just go to a junk yard. You might find something. Where I live there r 5 junk yards and each has at least 4 cars like that. Be sure its the same year and the components arent cut away.
How bad is it? MAybe some connectors and wires will help. Its easier. Just tell us whats wrong with it. I bet I have it running in a couple days.

also consider buying a parts car for $300 wrecked or something. Its worth it when you can go and spent thousands on low quality parts that dont make your car faster. Harness here is $100 in good cond. $300 can get you lotsa parts and harnesses.

sorry i never replied to this. i might just buy a new wiring harness and hope thats the problem cause then at least i can sell the car in running but not drivable condition and hopefully make my $$$ back.
i checked 3 different junk yards and not a single engine or components in any of the camaros most of them were pretty muched gutted inside and out. i just want to make my 500 bucks on the car its in pretty good shape and proly could get 500 on ebay cause i have seen some bodies of third gen go for around that. i am just mainly trying to save face and not look like too much of an idiot for getting in the situation i did with the TA and Camaro

some wires were cut when the guy i bought it from was taking out the old security system cause originally we thought it was a vats problem since the security light never went off. they had another system besides vats he got that out then we found the vats on passenger side of car and repaired a wire and security light never came on. but when we were checking the taped wires the main power wasnt connected at all. the connector into the car (not sure what its called) had alot of black gunk in it too (silcone) maybe. my best friend said most likely i would need a completely new harness to get it running if that even is the problem. the main thing i want is to make my 500 bucks or around there so i can use it on the trans am
edit: if this ends up being the only problem to get it running ill send ya 50 bucks supervisor so u can have dinner on me
edit 2 the main problem is not getting fuel to front of car. pump is working fliter was replaced. when u spray carb with starter fluid when cars struggling to start it will run til it burns off. the engine in itself should have alot of live left with alone 60k miles on it. it just sat for so long and had so many poke it and try and fix it that it was ahrd trying to figure who did what or who tried what. but with the trans am in way better condition i rather have that in the garage then having to decide which one stays out.
i got the trans am for a pretty good price of 600 bucks.(body is good minus small non visible dent from pic. t-tops dont leak no rust on car. it has an engine knock that most likely is a rod knocking so we were just going to replace the engine with a 305(best friend knows a few guys from gm so he said he will get me a short block cheap). I am still looking though at the bigger/better engines like lt1 and ls1. I actually read almost of of an ls1 book. Thats saying alot b/c i have read only 2 books in the last 7 years. I just want to have a nice ride just need to find more time to work on the camaro and trans am. its hard too while working 50 hours minium a week. I was just thinking too stop being a tight ass sell both cars make a pretty good profit after trans am runs again and just buy a car thats already modded up since i barely find the time to work on either of my babys.
