2000 Expedition acceleration rumble / shudder

I have a 2000 Expedition XLT (5.4L Triton) with around 74k miles. Lately I have noticed a strange rumbling/shuddering feeling when accelerating from a stop through about 25 MPH. It feels like the rumble is in the front axle area. I put on new tires about 600 miles ago, and didn't know if this may be a factor. Really wondering if it is normal or something major that needs repair.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi, I just joined this forum, and saw your post. I had the same problem with my expy and discovered on another forum that this is common and comes from the rear differential gears (spider gears?) binding. It really does sound like it is from the front. But when I ahanged the differential oil and added the friction modifier, it went away - about a year now. Hope this helps.
