I am 15 years old, and I have a little over 2 g's saved up. My father has agreed to give me an extra 2,500 to help out once it comes time to purchase a car. So if I went out and bought a car today i'd have 5,500 to spend. But I want to get to at least 8 g's in total money by the time I'm 16, because I also have to pay for insurance, gas, and maintiance.

Lots of options what are you looking for custom, wouldnt recomend a fast car for a first car but give some more info as to what you looking for.

if you want handling you could get a nice miata or NA MR2

if you want power you could get an LT1 Camaro or Trans Am or a 5.0 Mustang or an Eclipse GST or Talon TSi.

learn how to drive on a beater, with a small engine.

that way, you won't know real performance just yet (and won't be able to do stupid shit like most young'uns on here like lose your licence for going 110 in a 35) and you'll be able to learn how to make basic repairs and maintainence, and you'll eventually be able to graduate up to something better once you know the ins and outs of your crappier car.

My first car, Ford Aspire
I plan on buying an '05 Civic or '05-06 Corolla XRS, and I think that's a pretty good path.

:1:

I know that's not what you want to hear but it really is the best thing. I started driving a '95 Dodge Dakota this thing sucks, then I moved onto a 454SS clone. Lots of fun, lots of power, but still slow enough to keep me out of most trouble...then I got a GSX when I was starting my senior year in high school. So after having learned how to drive for a little while I didn't have to worry so much about totalling a nice car. Now I'm back with the Dakota until I get my next ride. Just work your way up...you're gonna be so pissed at yourself when you total a car you just paid 8g's for when it's some tiny little mistake that can send you out of control.

There both right my first car 91 corolla dx sedan, Wasnt the slowest car but man it wasnt fast. You really dont want something that has more power than you can handle and end up losing control and putting the front end in a phone pole or a tree. The good thing about beaters is well you dont have to really worry about fucking it up to bad so ragging on the engine and doing the smallest things to make it faster are easy. Also if you go out and buy a 5g civic, integra, truck whatever it may be you would be better off learing to drive in a car that cost you about 1500 then you cant be pissed when you actually do end up in an accident if you are one of the few people with luck that bad. Went from a corolla to a 85 4x4 blazer drop the trans in that went to a 89 4x4 blazer stripped the rear end gears in that and now im driving a 91 regal POS till i get the blazer back up. Besides for 8grand i could sit here for about an hour listing cars that you could get.

Let's see.

Civic
Accord
Integra
Acura EL Sport
Sentra

Those are the basic options most teenagers go for. If you want to be something different. I'm sure in a year's time you can pick up something like:

Early BMW E36 3-series (maybe '92-96)
Early 90s Audis. Some are really nice and pack a lot of heat. Especially Quttro turbo ones.
From time to time you can find something like loaded 1999 VW Jetta/Passat for less than 8 grand (at least here in Canada)

Those would be the more pimp daddy options if you have spare moneys for premium insurance + repair bills :grinyes:

Nothing beats a civic for your budget. Make sure you get one with 4 doors, you'll thank me when you call the insurance company.

The Civic really is the best all-around car you can buy. Sure there are plenty better for performance/luxury, but Civics really are good.

Do not get a fast car for your first car. It's in the best interest of your safety, and the safety of the other motorists. I'd recommend something with four doors, and fwd. A Civic, Corolla, Camry, Accord, Cavalier, Escort, etc. are all great choices for a first car. Your insurance will be low and if you wreck it, and you just might, you won't be kicking yourself for it. If you really can't live without something with some speed look at a 92-94 SE or 95+ Maximas.

unless your looking towards one from the 80's then your not going to get one for less than 12k, besides a 240 does burnouts just as good, so does a miata. Hell my truck does a kick ass burn out will be even better after i get the new rear put in posi 3.42 with some big ass 295/60/16 tires to damn hard as shit to find these damn things.
