I got an 87 Astro (nobody looks at the astro forum:(:() and i wanted to body drop it, so it lays frame, i was just wondering about how much it would cost to get done, in N.Y..

i was also wondering if there would have to be other things changed?..someone told me to body drop it i'd have to convert the sliding door to a gull wing, get suicide doors, and a bunch of other stuff, i know they have to cut the frame, and the wheel-wells....

Any help is appreciated :):) thanks

Sorry Dude but I have no idea as to how much it would cost you, but I bet it would be pretty damn expensive. It would probably be hard even for a shop to estimate a close price.

Also, if you did decide to get this done, make sure you go to a shop that knows there shit. You dont want them to screw up when cutting your frame.

Without some pics of the frame, I cant tell you if you would need to modify the doors. You probably would tho, which would be diffucult as you probably would have to custom make the hinges, etc....

I suggest calling a shop near ya, and tell them what you want. I think you might scream when you hear the estimate tho :(

Body dropping an Astro van is easy. I have pics of mine maybe sometime you would like to see them. The doors remain stock, and only the front half has to be body dropped. From the back of the front seats foward. . The only other thing to get it to lay out is the gas tank, you either raise it up about 3 inches or do away with it and use a fuel cell. Anyway my astro is getting a 4 and a half inch body drop and im also going to make it a full time topless beauty.
