95 chevy Silverado Z71 no start

I have a 95 chevy silverado 4x4 Z71 with a 350 in it. I was driving it and turned it off for a minute and when to start it back up and I just click. The starter is working but the motor will not turn over. Does anyone know whats up.

Ok, does the engine crank or not? Do you only get a starter click and that's it? I can't help you when your post is so vaugue. You need to be more specific on exactly what is happening. Could be a battery, could be a starter, could be bad connections at the cables, could be an ignition module. I can't begin to narrow the list until you give me more details.- Chris

the starter just clicks. the motor willn't crank. the start is fine it goes to the flywheel but the motor just willn't crank. the battery is brand new I think that the motor my be stuck

sounds odd, but to see if the motor is free and will turn, you can put a socket on the dampner bolt to turn the crank manually. Honestly though it sounds like you have a bad starter relay or silenoid, the power is not making it to the starter or the silenoid on top of the starter is whats stuck.

Back in the day, if the starter silenoid was stuck you could bang on the silenoid with a hammer or lug wrench enough to unstick it, or tap the two wire connections together on the silenoid with a insulated wrench. It will spark and the starter will crank breifly showing it was ready. None the less it was a sign it was failing and needed to be replaced very soon.

Could The transmisson be locked up

I have a 97 350 2wd that did the same thing last week, and have yet to find the problem. Started fine in the morning, but when i went to leave just got a starter click. Parts store next door- replaced the starter (and solenoid) immediately, but still nothing. Got the truck home, tried to start it next day- got a click first try, second try nothing at all. Fresh battery, clean connections, good fuses and starter relay, new rotor and cap. Stumpted- any suggestions appreciated.

One click then nothing almost guarantees that it is a bad connection. I'd look for the ground wires from the block to the battery or the body.
Also follow the plus battery cable to see if it goes to another terminal before the starter.
Sometimes you need to clean the cable terminals shiny to get rid of resistance.
I would put a voltmeter on the cable at the solenoid to see if it has 12 volts when you turn the key,
then if it does, put the meter on the connection from the solenoid to the starter to see if it got through the solenoid.
If the 12 volts is getting to the starter, I think I would measure at the block for voltage while trying to start it, proving a bad ground.
My daughters bronco had this problem with failing to crank intermittantly, and when it decided to fail in my driveway, I found voltage at the block. The ground wire was bound up on the bolt and as a result the bolt didn't tighten good previously.
